Blink intelligent glass for high impact, multi-media display applications has shown its potential for dramatic effect as part of a product launch at the World Ophthalmology Conference held inBerlin during June 2010. Blink was selected by internationally renowned exhibition company MCC GLC as a focal point for the drug company Novartis,showcasing a new drug to help improve eye sight. Blink switchable glass panels were used for the projection of a high definition AV presentation about the product – with a dramatic effect. As the presentation finished, the Blink glass became clear, providing the audience with a truly emotional engagement to the concept of clearer vision. To achieve the required impact, eight custom designed large free standing Blink panels were used, each an impressive 2.5 metres tall,1 metre wide and weighing 150kg. There was minimal deflection within each of the panels – vital for the AV presentation - and their strength met the requirements of a bustling exhibition environment where safety considerations were also paramount. Blink designed and engineered a special shoe 120mm deep to holdeach panel carefully in place.
